At Salem, we believe that blessing others is a reflection of the heart of God. Matthew 25 reminds us that when we care for those who are hungry, hurting, or struggling, we are serving Him.

And even as we are called to love the stranger, we are also called to bear one another’s burdens. God sees the needs of those beyond our fellowship, and He also sees the struggles of those sitting right beside us. And God has so richly blessed us at Salem to be able to share His love in both directions.

As we approach Christmas, we are inviting our members to nominate individuals or families who could experience a tangible expression of God’s love this season. Each day for the 12 Days of Christmas between December 13–24th, one selected nominee will receive a $1,000 Christmas blessing.

To help guide your nominations, please review the criteria below. Nominees should meet at least one of these qualifications and must be active members of Salem Baptist Church of Chicago.

WHO SHOULD BE NOMINATED?

Nominees must be members of Salem

We want to bless people in our church family who may be:

  • Facing financial hardship due to a recent job loss, furlough, or major reduction in income.

  • Caring for a loved one experiencing serious medical challenges, resulting in added emotional or financial strain.

  • Single parents managing full financial and caregiving responsibilities.

  • Elderly members who are primary caregivers for children or grandchildren.

  • Walking through a sudden or severe crisis such as displacement, trauma, or other unforeseen hardship.

HOW TO NOMINATE

Complete the nomination form and briefly share why this person or family needs a Christmas blessing.

The more specifically you can describe their situation, the better we can understand their need.

Thank you for helping us extend hope and unexpected joy during this sacred season.

Together, we can show the love of Jesus in a way that truly makes a difference.
